How many of these do you already do? 🤔
1 Tech Tip
Fix noisy calls with Voice Isolation
If you’ve ever been on a call with AirPods while walking outside or standing in a loud lobby, the other person is oftentimes just hearing a bunch of static.
I recently discovered how to turn on Voice Isolation on iPhone… and now no more complaints about the loud AC that’s right next time my desk!
iPhone
You have to turn this on while you’re already in a call:
Start or answer a call
Swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen
Tap the orange microphone / Phone Controls button at the top
Under Audio & Video, select Voice Isolation
That’s it! Your voice should come through much cleaner from now on.
You might need to update your iOS, but this should work for regular phone calls as well as FaceTime, Voice Memos, and other apps that use your microphone.
Android equivalents
I don’t have Androids to test these on but it looks like they may have something similar.
Samsung Galaxy: During a call, swipe down from the top → tap Mic mode → select Voice focus
Google Pixel: Pixel’s feature is called Clear Calling, which can be turned on from Settings → Sound & vibration → Clear Calling
Lemme know if this helps!
For a refresher on past Tech Tips without digging through your emails, they’re all available in a single post right here (doing my best to update once a month).
Thank you for reading!
I’m almost done catching up on emails but if you haven’t heard back from me yet, don’t hesitate to send another nudge!
Catch you next Thursday~
