"BCCing my EA comic launch"

CCing my EA reader Paul at Blacklane is looking for tips on dealing with difficult stakeholders. “Specifically, those who aren't great at responding to time-sensitive questions/tasks, where their response is what we need to move forward. Maybe your EA audience has some tips?!”

If you’ve dealt with this (I’m confident most of us have) and would like to share your tips with Paul, please respond directly to this email and I’ll make sure he gets them!

I’m genuinely sooo excited to share the BCCing my EA comic launch with you! 🥳

These comics are based on true stories submitted by EAs retold in a fun, anonymous way.

As you might recall, the Octopus and Bear characters are based on our survey results from a couple months ago.

The Octopus 🐙 represents how it would require 8 arms for anyone else to do an EA’s job. In addition, the Octopus also highlights the creativity and intelligence that’s required to get things done in a stealthy manner, as is often required for Executive Assistants.

Meanwhile, the Bear 🧸 is a nod to our CEO and CTO, John and Mike. They both attended UC Berkeley whose mascot of course happens to be the Bear.

A special thanks to the talented Ryan Prinsloo who worked closely with me to make this all happen!

For convenience, I’ll also be posting these comics the next day (CCing my EA newsletter readers get first dibs!) to our new LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram accounts so you can view them wherever most convenient for you :)

With all that said, I hope you enjoyed this first issue~

What social media platform does this remind you of? 🤭

On another note, this makes me think of my favorite quote of all time: “If I had more time, I would have written something shorter.”

“A strong EA is the heart of an organization.

Does your bonus policy reflect it?” 🫀

Talk about a strong opening! Be sure to check out the entire LinkedIn post by Maggie accompanying this image.

1 Tech Tip

Doubling down on the Four-Part Prompt formula

This past Tuesday, 127 EAs joined us for an AI Prompting webinar!

Now, I know I shared a Four-Part Prompt Formula tech tip a few weeks back, but I think it’s an important enough tech tip to highlight this deeper dive.

I want to stress that the Four-Part Prompt Formula is especially useful because it’s an enduring technique that will remain applicable across any chat-based AI tool, and most AI tools are conversational chat-based tools.

In the webinar, our CTO, Mike, broke down the Four-Part Prompt Formula and then put it into action with live, hands-on practice.

You can watch the 26 min recording on YouTube (5 min were for Q&A), and I’ll also link to the accompanying slides as well.

Just one tip though: I think the real value of the webinar was in actually practicing the prompts, so if you’re watching the replay, make sure to try writing a few yourself! 🏋️‍♂️

Don’t just take my word for it, here’s Mary literally putting what she learned into practice!

If you ever need a refresher on past Tech Tips without digging through your emails, they’re all available in a single post right here.

Thank you for reading!

Just a reminder that Paul Power is hoping you can share your tips on how you handle difficult stakeholders who don’t respond to time-sensitive questions/tasks that are blocking things from moving forward.

If you have something you’d like to share with him, please reply directly to this email and I’ll make sure he gets it!

See you next Thursday~
