In case you’re new here, CCing my EA is a bite-sized newsletter by Vimcal EA dedicated to Executive Assistants like yourself.

We only post jobs under 7 days old, but some may expire before you open this email.
In case you missed yesterday’s workshop on job hunting with Sydney Morris of N+1 Search (EA recruiting specialist), the main takeaway was this:
Reach out to an EA who already works at the company you’re interested in.
This is because they’ll be able to give you context on everything that’s actually happening at the company such as why they’re hiring the role in the first place, what the work culture is like, and what the execs are really looking for in a candidate.
The 3rd and final workshop for the job hunting series will be on March 25th at 11am ET. I’ll share an RSVP link in next week’s newsletter!
Because there wasn’t any super personal details shared during the Zoom, I’ve decided to share a link to the recording here: youtu.be/Fz7Ib-NkQSQ
3 posts you might’ve missed
#1
“Difficult stakeholders become easier when they trust your competence” stands out to me.
To add on to that, I feel like “difficult” people in general become easier when they like you.
It’s all in the soft skills! ❤️
#2
These comics are based on true stories submitted by EAs retold in a fun, anonymous way.
Do you have an outrageous or funny story you’d like to get off your chest? Just reply directly to this email to share. I promise anonymity! 🤫

At a recent CCing my EA meetup, I heard something along the lines of “an EA’s best resource is another EA”, and it’s so true because they’re able to share relevant assets like vendors, tips, and tools with you.
And I’ll also add my personal opinion that the word “networking” feels a little too transactional for me and it distances itself from what I think is its true meaning: making new friends!
So if you aren’t already, I fully encourage you to go out and make yourself some new EA friends! ☺️
P.S. In case you missed this a few months back, we’ve been hosting in-person CCing my EA meetups based on each location’s demand. Feel free to fill out this short 3-question form if you’re interested in meeting your EA peers in-person!
1 Tech Tip
Slack: Jump to any channel or DM instantly
If you’re like me and constantly looking for Slack channels that keep disappearing from the sidebar, you might find this shortcut a lifesaver!
Just press:
Mac: ⌘ + K
Windows: Ctrl + K
That opens Slack’s search bar. You can then start typing a person or channel’s name and it’ll pop right up!

No more dragging the mouse and clicking the search box :)
For a refresher on past Tech Tips without digging through your emails, they’re all available in a single post right here (doing my best to update once a month).
Thank you for reading!
You can tell Spring is right around the corner from the new job posts that are being posted.
It’s funny how businesses seems to slow down right alongside the natural world during Winter from around Thanksgiving through the end of February.
Now that nature is in growth mode, so too are businesses. 🌸
I don’t know if there’s a takeaway here, just felt like sharing.
I’ll catch you next Thursday~
