I wonder how many VEAs started out as EAs first, and what prompted the transition? 🤔

1 Tech Tip
The fastest way to get useful feedback: “Score it out of 10.”
I know this isn’t necessarily a “tech” tip, but it’s important enough that I’m sharing it anyway. (Let me know if you want more of these?)
Have you ever asked your exec “Any feedback?” and gotten:
“Looks good” (but then they change everything later)
or
“Not quite” (but with zero specifics)
Instead, ask them to score it out of 10.
Then (this is the important part) ask: “What would make it a 10?”
That’s it.
Why this works: your definition of “perfect” might be totally different from theirs. “What makes it a 10” forces them to show you what good actually looks like in their head, so you no longer have to guess.
For a refresher on past Tech Tips without digging through your emails, they’re all available in a single post right here (doing my best to update once a month).
Thank you for reading!
I got suuuper ill this past weekend and am still recovering, so apologies for any delayed email communications on my end.
I did want to share an experience from last weekend where I organized a basketball tournament and had 7 players flying in from out of town.
2 of them missed their flights, so I had to rebook them
1 blew a tire and needed help getting their car towed at 1:30am
1 needed to change their hotel check-in and check-out dates
1 had their girlfriend arriving 4 hours before them and wanted someone to look after her
and 1 needed IT support just to get through JetBlue's kiosk check-in
Literally only 1 out of the 7 didn’t have an issue…
I feel like I got a glimpse into what being an EA is like. 😭
Here’s a pic from that event though!

I missed 🥲
I’ll catch you next Thursday~
