1 Tech Tip

iPhone’s Work Focus mode

I might be very late to the party but I just discovered iPhone’s Work Focus feature!

Think of it as a second Do Not Disturb profile.

Yes, regular Do Not Disturb can already silence notifications. The point of Work Focus is that you can create a separate setup for work without messing up your personal DND settings.

That means you can have a separate “allowed list” specifically for work, which only lets execs + key people, Calendar, Slack/Teams notifications get through while muting the rest.

On top of that, you can also have a work-only Home Screen!

You can make it so when you have Work Focus turned on, your home screen only shows your work apps/pages.

So when you unlock your phone at work, it’s basically: Calendar, email, Slack, with none of the distracting stuff.

You can set it up by just going to your iPhone’s Settings → Focus → Work

Next week’s tech tip will build on this Work Focus feature so make sure to set it up this week if you want to follow along!

For a refresher on past Tech Tips without digging through your emails, they’re all available in a single post right here (doing my best to update once a month).

Thank you for reading!

Thank you for all the London suggestions last week! Borough Market ended up being the most recommended experience and it definitely lived up to the hype (I’ll leave details of my itinerary in the P.P.S. below).

On a related note, my trip was to host our first-ever international CCing my EA meetup, which went so well that we’ll definitely be back for a round 2 soon!

With that said, if you’d like a CCing my EA meetup to come to a city near you and you haven’t already, please fill out this 3-question form to get a direct email whenever we’re planning one.

I’ll catch you next Thursday~

  • Sunday (23k steps): British Museum → afternoon tea at sketch → Brick Lane → Sunday roast at Blacklock
